First Woman
As the world was formed by Māori Gods. Tane Mahuta, who was the God of the forest, destroyed the father of the sky and the mother of the earth to create land and sky. Tane Mahuta, with help from his brothers created the world we see today. Tane Mahuta then convinced the other gods to bring to life a woman named Hineahuone. She could then start populating their earth, as she was the first Māori woman.
